Moving a gooseberry bush

I have a healthy and now,after 4 years, thriving gooseberry bush. My problem is that I'd like it to be somewhere else (on my recently acquired allotment) so that I can plant something purely decorative in it's place. Am I being silly? Is it possible? Should I just take cuttings? Any suggestions?
