Palm Trees

Hi
We have 2 big palm trees which have been producing we think are seeds. Can someone let us know what looks like seed pods are. Some one told us they are used in Indian cooking ? I am attaching pictures. Many thanks

I don't know palms but they look more like flowers to me.
