Potteringabout, does big frank get in the pond?image

  • Surprisingly, for a labrador, he's not that fond of swimming! With the exception of a couple of slips, he's very clumsy, he's never been in the pond. image

My Lab HATES the water. She's never been further in than knee deep. She goes in and stands and looks about while nutter nuts around her! She's the only dog I've ever had that didn't swim. I walk my dogs around Lough Erne and it's what they all do....but not Bran.

My Wolfhound/retriever launched herself off the end of the jetty after some ducks a couple of years ago. I thought I was going to have to go in after her but with superhuman strength I hoicked her out. I still don't know how I did it. She was tiring badly. She shook herself off and gambolled away leaving me lying on the deck close to death!!!!!

We've had another Chappie incident! I'm going to have to put a bar on the boot room door. I was in the garden yesterday for no more than 20 minutes and this happened.

My vet is a big bluff man who is very straight not given to sentiment and he welled up when it came to putting her to sleep. Every week she had gone for her really nasty injection for lymphoma and she had held her paw up to him and sniffed his head. She was one in a million. I know we say that about all our dogs but even the vet said it to me. He was very taken with her and was gutted when she didn't respond to the treatment. She was a big dope.

Just been going through all the pictures of everyones pets they are so adorable. I had 2 English Springer Spaniels till just recently Sam and Jack . But sadly Jack had to be put to sleep as he had cancer. I am glad I still have Sam as the pain of losing Jack was unbearable. Pets are so amazing they are sometimes better than human beings. They just give you so much love, its brilliant what they will do for a Bonio..Would send a picture but I don't know how to yet. Have really enjoyed looking and reading about all these lovely petsimage

Gorgeous boys. My very first dog was born in a burnt out transit van! It's not much of a start for them is it? Your two seem to be doing ok now though. image
