Is this a weed?

Hi all, I'm new. I've found this plant amongst lots of weeds in my front border. It looks like, at some point it has been pruned, so I'm assuming it's a shrub. There is a large clump of it but strangely all the other plants are roses, so it does look out of place, but it is dead centre of the border so looks purposely planted iykwim. Anyway, here it is:

    It could be a Honeysuckle.

Ooh,  nice big, clear photo bunny image

I'm going to say ' Hypericum' , it has bright yellow flowers in the summer.

  • Thank you Muddy and Kitty,  I did think it might be a honeysuckle. At least I know now not to dig it up as a weed. I suppose I'll just have to wait until it flowers to see what it is.

Nut is the Encyclopaedia Nutanica! I thought honeysuckle but now you say hypericum I'm convinced. Good call kitty.

I have hypericum to fill spaces but my neighbour won't touch it. She was given some years ago and can't get rid of it Another scourge according to her. It depends what type you have I suppose.
