Time of year for planting a new hedge?

We intend planting a mixed natural hedge, about 50 foot in length of  laurel, hazel, red robin & holly, When is the best time of year for planting?

In the winter months between November and the end of March.  You can buy bare rooted deciduous plants in winter which are very much cheaper than potted plants.

Based in Sussex, I garden to encourage as many birds to my garden as possible.

There are specialist places where you can choose what kind of mix you want, wildlife, flowering, thorny etc. It might be worth checking them out. They give you percentages of plant in each mix, how many plants you'll need for single row/double row. In fact they do all your thinking for you. imagehttps://www.hedgesdirect.co.uk/?gclid=CPjZm4-t2swCFbYW0wodKawJtw

I'm sure other suppliers are available.
