Help with this plant

EdlontonEdlonton Posts: 59

I have seen this plant recently at a friend's garden and I find it very pretty and I would like to get one for my own garden.

Any idea of the name?

Thanks,

Ed.

    It is a Pieris.

It needs acid soil, and for me, they grow better with some shade.

Yip. Pieris they are particularly lovely at this time of year. If you go to the GC now oyu'll see loads and you can choose your favourite. There are varigated ones as well.

  • I've got two - one in the ground, which is muddling by as I don't really have the soil for it, and one in a pot, which is very cheery image

This is one of mine today. It's about 6ft tall. The bed is shaded by the wall from around midday and I feed with ericaceous feed when I remember. It seems to like it.

    Ed,

A beautiful plant and in full bloom at this time of year. They do like an acidic soil but mine are planted in mainley a clay solid with generous amounts of ericaceous compost. Also I give them a acid plant foliar feed about 3 times a year just to give them a good boost.
