Transplanting Acer Tree
Hello Everyone
My very first post here ☺
I planted an orange dream acer 4yrs ago, after my father passed. Unsure why, but I planted it next to my front door. It's a gorgeous tree, for obvious reasons have grew very attached to it. Anyway, this year it's been attacked by aphids. I've been treating it with fairy liquid and water for approx 3 weeks, but their persistent wee things, and keep coming back. To cut a long story short, I've since noticed there are ants as well..and the ants are coming into the house (tree at front door). I've decided to move it, I'm wondering if you guys could give me some advice as to the best way of moving it at this time of year. I appreciate your help. It has allium globe master bulbs next to it too ????

Hmm, is it really neceassary to move it now? It would be so much better if you could wait till the leaves come off again (late Autumn). If you do it now there's a fairly big possibility that the Acer will not survive as it's in full leaf by now. And at that same time you can move the Alliums too.
The aphids are easy to get rid of with a spray or you could use some olive oil if they are wooly aphids. I noticed the other day my Acer had some aphids, but the Blue Tits have eaten them all. Lovely little birds
Leave it till autumn, if at all possible.
