Elaeagnus × ebbingei 'Limelight' disease

Hi,

Can anyone help identify what is affecting our March-planted Oleaster (Elaeagnus × ebbingei 'Limelight'). Planted as part of a mixed hedge and all other plants, including the neighbouring Acer and Mock Orange are healthy.

It is in Derbyshire, on limestone and we've had a kid of rain and sun recently. There are established Oleasters nearby.

The plant looks healthy enough, the silvery new shoots are normal for Eleagnus. The notched leaf edges look like vine weevil damage.

  • Thank you buttercupdays. This certainly looks to be the answer and I'll be hunting the weevils down!
