How to screen my neighbours

image

I am looking for any suggestions as to how to screen our patio from the neighbours window and kitchen extension.

I am looking for ideas to provide privacy either on top of the wall or including the wall.

Can anyone help?

A section of trellis attached to the wall should do the job.

I'm not sure you are allowed to block someones window. My mothers house has a similar window near her house and the deeds say specifically she is not allowed to put any fencing or trellis up over it.

I'd go for some tall plants or small trees in pots a little way in from the wall.

I was never bothered about neighbours before this year but the new neighbours with 4 kids two houses away seem to let their kids scream for 12 hours a day in their garden. I honestly don't know how they have the energy - they must take it in turns.

Lots of neighbour/privacy/wallclimbing issues on yesterday's forum. Type privacy in the search box and there'll be loads of suggestions. Vonnie springs to mind. Can't remember who else.

Don't think you'd be very popular if you blocked off their window completely. It may be their only source of natural light.

Difficult to see as I can't zoom in but it seems they already have a privacy blind up, you may find they're not keen on you looking into their kitchen either.

I'd go with Lou's suggestion of something further away from the wall. Maybe one if those long freestanding troughs with a trellis attached positioned behind the bench.

Grow a nice climber up it and you will both have a better view.

I think you would need their permission if you wanted to attatch a trellis to the cream wall of the extension to screen it from view so maybe have a chat with them before you get the drill out.
