Tall Phlox cutting growing, but no roots?

CraighBCraighB Posts: 758

Hi guys a couple of weeks ago I took a softwood cutting from my tall phlox and potted them up. i pinched out the growing tip but noticed yesterday  there are side shoots growing and have grown about 2cm. So I thought there might now be roots but when I took it out of the pots I can't see any roots?

So how is it growing? And should I cut off the side shoots?

thanks

Leave it be and keep your fingers crossedimage. Not sure they do very well from stem cuttings, root cuttings are what is usually recommended. I just divide mine when they get big enough.
