Yellow leaves on my honeysuckle

Hi,
I have a lovely honeysuckle pant which I bought in July last year as a small plant. I planted it in a deep terracotta pot facing south east, and it's grown amazingly in the corner of my patio and i'm training it along a bamboo trellis along a wall. It gets the sun from about 11-2pm, and is sheltered from wind.
It has been getting some yellow leaves, which I've kept cutting off the plant I've treated it with Rose Clear a few times following instructions, and water lots every day. I understand that it likes cool moist roots, i've covered the top of the soil in the pot with pebbles. About a month ago I gave it some Miracle Grow Slow Release All Purpose fertiliser, covered with an inch of compost then put the pebbles back on top.
This evening I've just noticed that loads of its leaves have turned yellow. I'm worried that the leaves have been scorched by the sun this weekend.
Any ideas what i might be doing wrong???

Suzie you may be over watering it. A two gallon can of water once a week would be all that it would need, however they're better off in the ground than in pots. If you can I'd get it into the soil.
HI Dave,
I only have a patio so pots are my only option sadly.
I thought that I would need to water it every day as its in a terracotta pot, and the temperature gets quite hot in the spot where I've put it. I'm worried that it might be too hot. I'm hoping I won't have to move it as its grown into the trellis.
I've just put a lily with tall leaves in front of it which will hopefully keep the roots and base a bit cooler.
Here are some pics to help explain my conundrum...
