My Alstroemerias stems are laying down after I pick the flowers. I have always picked the flowers like I should be doing but this year the plant foliage just wilted or laid down. is there something that I'm missing?

I'm new at this but I am the person who needs help with my Alstroemeria plants.
Alstroemeria flowers are usually picked by pulling the entire flowering stem out of the ground, this encourages the plant to make new shoots. They like a bit of high potassium fertiliser, like tomato food.
Aym - OP lives in California (lucky thing) - so seasons are a little different to ours!
