Hebe problems?

Hi im new to forum so apologies if im asking this in the wrong section.

I have 2 hebe's that arent doing so well and wondered if someone could offer me some advice.

I only really started having an interest in gerdening last year so im still very much in the learning the basics stage.

Both hebe's started to go this way towards the end of last summer. I decided to leave them be and see what happened. Ive started to clear the border (get rid of weeds etc) but wondering whether i need to remove these along with the weeds? Thanks in advance :-)

     I seem to be unable to add pictures. They both basically only have any foilage nearer to the tips and the rest of the plant is bare :-(

    Hi welcome, with hebes you can't cut them back because they won't regrow so I would dig them up and put something else there if you want to.Mix a lot of compost in soil before you do to replenish the soil:)

    I meant to say sounds as if they reached the end of life:)
