Mine grow in a damp meadow which is shaded most of the day. They are like most spring flowering bulbs I guess, about three to four weeks, probably longer if it's cold, less with more sun.

I have the blue ones too; they seem to flower before the white ones, but they are more established, which may perhaps be why. There is also a delectable double version of the white one, C.Leichtlinnii semi-plena which is on my list for next year. If you haven't much room, C. esculenta is like a mini version of the blue ones and much cheaper too. I get mine from Peter Nyssen but other bulb stockists should have them too.

thanks for your responses... does that nice lady who grows them do mail order bulbs? I didn't get her name!

would much rather put business her way than some of the other "big name" suppliers!
