Protecting lettuce from birds

Hi,

I'm growing lettuce and was wondering if making a kind of barrier with branches would work? I know a lot of people use netting but I was thinking of giving this a go.

Hi Denno666. I use net cloches. Protects the lettuce from rampant sparrows yet lets water through. If you look on the Net you can find good deals. Last year I purchased a two pack of 3mtr, wide, strong net cloches for £10. They are going to last for years.

Thanks Mel, that sounds like a really good idea I'll get shopping!
