Care of elderly dianthus

AlxNicAlxNic Posts: 259

Good morning everyone. I can't find this information on the internet so here's my question.

I have dianthus Devon wizard & Mrs Sinkins, both planted last year - but also in the garden are several other clumps of 'pinks'. They must have been in the garden for at least 10 years, they still give some flowers but are looking a bit overgrown/unkempt/woody. I will take cuttings at the appropriate time but I'm not sure what (if anything) I should be doing with the plants.

Thanks
