Can celery overwinter?

l had a successful celery crop last year. There were so many plants as I planted even the smallest seedlings. Some grew slower and I left these smaller ones in the ground over the winter. They didn't die off and now they are looking quite happy. They're leafy, around 3 inches high.

My question is will they resume growth and end up being edible or not? They're taking up growing space, but are very welcome to it if they'll be a kitchen crop.
