What happened to my passion flowers?
Hi all
I grabbed an Aldi bargain last August and bought some passion flowers. I planted about three in large pots, planted in compost and then covered the surface of the compost with small stones. I then constructed a teepee out of bamboo for them to grab hold of.
They took to the pots fantastically well, and almost overnight began growing rapidly, and I managed to train them to spiral around the bamboo- all good news.
They obviously stopped growing by the winter and seemed to be hibernating well, no signs of any problems - all green, but no new growth.
However, over the past the month things have gone wrong. Firstly, they never woke up from the winter. I didn't worry too much as they were all still green I watered in March hoping this would kick start some growth but alas nothing.
More recently, the leaves have now started turning yellow, things are not looking good at all, yet i have absolutely no idea why. They absolutely thrived last August. they are in a very hot south facing garden, they've not dried out and there doesn't seem to be any problems other than a few nibbled leaves.
Any idea what's gone wrong, and what i can do to save them?
Thanks in advance

They're big plants, how big are your pots? could they be starving?
I don't grow these and don't know when they start into growth. They may have died back and will start again from the bottom.

This crossed my mind, but I dont think they're big enough yet to be starved of space.
To be honest they haven't grown since around December but stayed green throughout the rest of the winter. It's only in the last two weeks they've gone yellow. I've heard they are pretty hardy so I'm surprised they've started to keel over!
