I need to get my orchid to rebloom

My daughter gave me a beautiful orchid 2 years ago. Well, of course the flowers died but I did cut off the stem below the bloom where it was dying. I applied the cinnamon on those that I cut off, It has a lot of roots on top of the soil. Will repotting it the right soil mix and pot help it grow new shoots? Ot what to do?

I was given two orchids by people who don't know I dislike their plasticky looks.  Being a good girl, I went out and bought some sticks of orchid food and bunged a couple in each pot.  I water them by dunking the pot in water till no more bubbles appear and then let them drain before putting them back in their cache-pots.  I keep them on an unheated, north facing windowsill so they get no direct sun except in late afternoon in summer.

I've had the older one nearly 3 years now and it has just finished it's 3rd set of flowering and produces two stems which last for months.   The newer one has been in flower since last September.   No plans to re-pot either.
