Am I too late

Could somebody advise whether it is too late to plant a clematis montana in Scotland please.

    In a word - no!

    You can plant anything that's in a pot at any time of year unless the ground's waterlogged or frozen.image

    I'm assuming it's a reasonable size of plant though, and not a tiny cutting or very young plant  in a 3" or 4" pot. They would need potting on until they get bigger. 

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Agree with Fairy on all points.

    Based in Sussex, I garden to encourage as many birds to my garden as possible.
