Patchy Lawn....help!!

Hi all,
Got really into my gardening lately and am trying to get my lawn to look immaculate but I'm really struggling...why is it such a dull colour? I've tried watering it with lawn feed but it isn't working. I'm a newbie to all this so please don't shoot me down!! Help please!
