suddenly flower spikes on my lupins. Where did they come from? (Don't answer I know ). By next week they will be open
just illustrates how quickly things change in the garden....month back it felt like a cold spring now it feels like summer.
I bought my first lupins last summer. They have thrown up plenty of leaves so far this year, but no flower spikes yet. I really can't wait!
Oooh,
Lucky you.
Lupins take me back to the mid 80's in my mums garden
Big spikes of colour
Snail hunting.
Skateboards and gashed knees
Carpet burns don't count...
Its a funny thing
I'v erealised that despite loving my mums old garden, that I go out of my way not to use 'her' plants in my own plantings.
No lupins, rhodies, azaleas, wisteria ,phormiums, yukkas
Conifers, deutzias, forsythias, and in fact most shrubs I ignore- I'm.pretty much 100% herbaceous.
Watch out for dentists if you're eating lollies again Verdun
Whoop! I like a nice lupin?
No spikes on mine, that I can see from the window but I've still got daffs in bud.
Agree about the weather though, last week everything stalled but has come on leaps and bounds this week☀️
all mine in full healthy looking leaf but no flowers yet ( half garden still under scaffolding so mine may all be 6 weeks late ggrrrrr)
I was tiding up my garden and I have lost my two lupins and I'm gutted they were beautiful. I counted 21 spikes on one last year. I have replaced them today but I am going to have to wait to get them that big again.
