Flymo type mowers

Hi there,

I am wondering if any of you had a little advice for me. We have a very small patch of grass in the back and one in the front. I've been mowing with a little manual reel mower and it's been okay, but I miss a nice even cut and the little mower has gotten very stiff, so that it is  full body workout mowing the little patch (I don't mind a bit of hard work but when the wheels won't turn but skid is gets messy any annoying). So I am thinking about getting one of those flymos or even a cheaper alternative. However, I do wonder if they make an awful mess really? Especially the ones without basking. And for the ones with a basket, are they worth the extra money?

We have a gravel path cutting through the lawn and I think a flymo type would cut the edges best, but also I fear that said path will end up being covered in cuttings.

The grass patch is almost square, that's why I don't think that a rotary mower would be very practical with turning etc.

Have you oiled your mower, that might be the problem? A small flymo will be OK but you will get a lot blown around. Why don't you buy another push mower? image

I guess I could try oiling it. It's not very good with the gravel path though, I must admit. I always end up doing it with the strimmer and/or cutting it with scissors by hand :P

With push mower, do you mean a rotary one (with wheels)?
