Take out any growth which is coming out from the wall and don't be scared to cut back  to keep it within its boundaries as it will put on a lot of growth. Now, is a good time to prune. I never shredded this but put it straight in to the recycling bin. I loved my shrub but never looked forward to the little hairs. They look so innocent and at first you may not even see them but believe me they are there! I'm scratching just thinking about those hairs!
