i'm in the south east and mine has just started to get little leaves on it (on the twiggy bits) not on all the twigs mind you so i'm going to leave it and see if more growth appears and once it's got going i will trim out all the dead bits that have no growth on. not sure if this was the right way to do it but i didn't prune mine last year as wasn't sure whether to or not.

verdun should i prune mine back too as some have only leaves near the top with nine below, should i just prune it right back there too, it's about 12 inches tall roughly?

thanks verdun, i know you are the salvia man that can, so i shall chop it back image my salvia amistad is showing signs of life from the base too, i know i shouldn't go poking about but i was excited when i saw it was attached and not a weed, just hoping the mystic spires comes back too, will that also be from the base? that is my favourite.

nita3 i know what you mean but the guys on here know their stuff which helps enormously image
