I do remember reading about a florist, who handled them a lot without gloves being made ill by them, but not dying. Sensible precautions and don't put them in your salad
It's obviously only a plant for millionaires with 'acres of manicured gardens' who can afford lowly gardeners to take the hit when the evil poison strikes
