Is it still too early to plant runner beans directly outside?

After the last frost. So, yes, it is too early depending on where you are.

What was the old farmers' rule - 'When the ground is warm enough to sit on with a bare bottom' image

    Thank you all,

I live in NW Wales. We had snow last week so I opted to plant in deep pots. Hopefully they can then start hardening off in about 3 weeks and then hopefully be able to go out.

Only problem is my poor neighbour has a whole host of pots to look after whilst we're away on holiday next week .... I shall have to buy her some fudge image
