New plants by division

a1154a1154 Posts: 1,108

Hi, several questions on dividing plants....is it too late to divide hardy geranium?  I did 3 or 4 back in March, decided it was hard work and the weather was foul.  I wish i had done a few more (and the weather is still foul!)

polyanthus divide after flowering - yes? so pretty soon for these.

Pulmonaria - i have different websites saying different times for division - can i do this after flowering too?

Thanks.

    no, yes and yes

Most perennials of this type will divide any time you like as long as you don't let them dry out before they get established. Don't drown them though

Cut all the big leaves off, tat stops moisture loss. I just leave a few baby leaves, they soon grow more

I am quite like Nut, I divide any plants  whenever I want too. They always take ok, as long as they don't dry out in the summer months.
