Tulips

I planted a lot of Tulips, 5 inches deep in large pots and all are flowering beautifully but can they stay in the pots and will they flower again next year

you can leave them,(but I always like a change of display) make sure you keep them dry and not waterlogged.I had a fantastic display this year following monty s advice,I did several layers of crocus ,small iris, daffs, and all my left over tulips from the year before. They just keep flowering as one goes over another comes through.image

Feed them now, let them die back, keep the pots dry, and preferably in a sun baked position.

Unfortunately, many tulips decline quite rapidly, so you may not get many flowers next year.

How can you lie there and think of England

If you feed the tulips tomato food when they finish flowering, stop watering when the leaves have died down and put the pot in full sun they should come back but they're not usually as good as the first year.  image
