Advice on front garden please

  • Thanks Kitty, I like the idea of Troughs, are there any cheap ones you recommend? I ask because there is the unfortunate risk of theft.

Also, do you think I should just turf/seed the brown patch under the window?

    Regards

    James

Check out Wilkos "Milano trough planter" in black, £4.

I got a couple last year for the front garden, nice and deep and very sturdy plastic considering the price. They do round pots in the same range too.

Under the widow I would consider edging the lawn in a straight line across and putting down a gravel path for the pots to sit on.

HI James keep your roses!! whatever else you do! Our front garden is all planting, 2 largeish triangular beds with a york stone path in the middle, neighbours have some driveeays and rest have neat evergreens, I've so often been complimented when I'm working out there, it's not big by any stretch of the imagination but it's full of flowers

  • Roses are staying. I love them. Thanks everyone. Will post an update.
  • Hi everyone, thanks again. Ashamed to say that the herb garden is not happening, not this year.

Instead, I have simply turfed the area to complete the lawn. I understand this is not the best time of year, however with the rain and the hosing I give the turf each evening, I am hoping it will lay in as it is only a small area.

Maybe next year I will place some troughs and start a herb garden.

Thank you again for all your posts, most appreciated.
