Virgin have told us that we may be without broadband for a large part of today, so if I disappear you'll know why.
Yesterday went well - the simple day that she wanted (but with a few flourishes to let her know that we're in charge now ). Thank you all for your kind wishes.
Now I'll have a read back to see what's been going on .....
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
My mother called last night; she and future mother in law are coming up to see me on Monday (my birthday and normally my day off)... trouble is I'd agreed that afternoon to work in Bradford on Monday. That's me in trouble then... If anyone in Bradford wants to come and meet me on my birthday I'll find out where I'm meant to be!
Still you may be hearing some exciting news on the job front so keep your fingers crossed.
Glad the day went well Dove and Wonky - sharing memories of Ma is a wonderful way to celebrate the life she had.
Just been over to my flower garden and the GH. Everything is growing lustily after yesterday's downpours ......which makes up for my hellebore disaster
Chicklet made it back safely yesterday, so we are back to a quiet house .....Chicklets definitely need to be in pairs to get to their maximum volume
Great photo (several pages back) Lizzie. So many beautiful towns nestling on the shores of the lake .....we took a boat to visit Bordolino and Sirmione.
I'm joining Liri in ridiculous excitement at the prospect of Chelsea next week ....checking the forecast on an hourly basis
Like Lizzie I think I will give the series Marcella a miss, shame as I have nothing to watch at the moment, although probably a good thing as the chateau have given me a list of dates to work right through the summer.
Chicky the thought of my Charlie going off to uni frightens me to death, I know it's 8 years away yet but still.....although a friend did say by the time he is 18 I'll be glad to see the back of him.
Good luck on the job front Clari, fingers crossed for you.
Teaching all day but will have to get in the garden after dinner, thank goodness for light nights. I think the grass that is invading the back flower bed is about 3 feet high and I'm sure it wasn't there last week.
Good day to you all.

Humid and grey here, hope to get some more planting done today. I love this time of year, moving pots around, until I find the "perfect" location, trying to paint pretty pictures.
Dahlias are growing well in the greenhouse, they need to be big enough to plant out, before holidays.
Glad yesterday went as well as possible, Dove and WW. I think you will feel very tired, for the next few days, take it easy.
Good luck on the job front Clari, it is my birthday next week as well.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
