Last year's nettle feed

hello everyone,

Last spring, i filled a bucket with nettles, top up with water, covered it, put it somewhere out of the way........... and found it last week! (I blame baby brain)

I haven't uncovered it yet, i need to prepare myself and gather information first! Do you think it would be ok to strain and use? Super dilluted? Do i need to keep children and pets locked in the house, wear overalls, special goggles and mask? image

Thank you

    Hi Julie

Although it may be a bit smelly diluted down will be a good feed for any hungry plants you have in your garden

Smelly and for free now thats a great reason to use what you have in your garden to feed your plants

And keeps the cash in your pocket instead of giving to thelocal garden centres who at this time of year charge the premium price for anything associated with gardening

    Happy gardening

Yes to all of those questions, Julie image

Seriously though, do use it, strained and diluted, and let us know its effects!

  • Thank you both! I'll brace myself this weekend... I'll report back!

Wear gloves Julie - industrial ones! I got some on my hands and they honked for days! I even tried bleach but it didn't get rid of the stench.

I vowed never ever to make the stuff again. The honk was like nothing I have ever smelt before.
