Supporting peas in container

Hi I want to grow peas on container. Any advise on how to support it. Do I just out a cane next to each pea to give vertical support or do I need to also add horizontal support. If so I do I do it. Do I just tie some garden string across cane? Ta

    I use 3, 6 foot canes, tie them together at the top to make a wigwam.

    If you choose a dwarf variety, you can just push some twiggy sticks in among them  for support.
