fruit tree protection

We have a u cordon pear and espalier apple - it's only their second year of being allowed to fruit, and last year was really mild. I fleeced them this week when the weather turned really cold. The pear has  blossom, the apple not yet. Now milder and sunny, but still frost risk at night. Would you fleece them at night, or would they be ok without? It's a pretty sheltered suburban garden.

And remember they need to be pollinated in order to produce fruit and bees can't get though fleece!  image

Thanks! It's a trellis fence, but same logic I guess.

Apple blossom is really late this year in southern England; it is only just beginning and normally it begins about mid April.  As has been said the weather is warming up.  My feeling is that apples will be OK this year as blossom time is so late.

Based in Sussex, I garden to encourage as many birds to my garden as possible.
