Can anybody suggest what this neat little mound might be (apologies for orientation of the picture - I can't figure out how to rotate it).?

In a way I'm actually a fan of the foliage (and habit so far) but it'll have to go if it turns out to be something undesirable.

    That was my thought too.  Daisy-like flowers (good for aphid-eating hover flies), smelly foliage (good for confusing carrot flies) and seeds all over the place like mad.  It's said to have some therapeutic effect, hence the name.

    Thanks for the tips guys. That would be a bit of a result - I checked out a few pictures and it's actually quite a nice little plant. You have earned it a reprieve!

    Looks like feverfew. Have you squeezed the leaves and sniffed? very pungent, no mistaking it

    Looks great against blue plants  and brightens up a dark spot. Easy to pull out if it's in the wrong place. I like the smell.

    I haven't had a smell yet ???? It's in a fairly shady spot in cold, hard clay so it must be pretty robust. Interesting to hear the different views on whether the smell is nice or not - I'm intrigued.

    I used to have a garden where it seeded profusely.  I would dig up most but left a few where I thought they would look nice.  It's a nice cheerful plant in the right place.

    Based in Sussex, I garden to encourage as many birds to my garden as possible.

    There's a golden-leaved sort too, which breeds true from seed.  Very pretty in a wild sort of way...

    Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

    Went in for the smell today.  I can see how it divides opinion.  I like it, my other half not so sure.  Kind of like camomile on steroids.

    I actually bought a couple of plants as mine had stopped self seeding.

    It's a Marmite kind of smell: many like it, many can't abide it.  I like it, and fortunately carrot flies don't.

    I can't stand Marmite though.  I accidentally bit a Twiglet once.  Only once. image
