PSEUDOPANAY 'Gold Splash'
I have had the above plant in a fairly large pot for some years which has lots of new growth and is now about 4 feet high. Should it be pruned? Is it too late? If not, how low should one take it? I cannot find this shrub mentioned in any of my books (admittedly a little old). Thanks

It's a cultivar of Pseudopanax lessonii, you could try looking for that. The cultivars will all need the same treatment.
Never tried any of them, I don't think they'd survive here. Nice ones at the Old Vicarage, East Ruston, don't know which species though.
