Clematis group 3 'Royal Velours'

Hi All.
My newly planted clematis was wind damaged last night and as a result the growing tip is bent and kinked 
. Should I cut it back and where to?

Try a couple of bucketfuls of water first, see if it perks up, if not then chop it back to about 2 ft. high.
