Cabbage plants

What has eaten these Cabbage plants, 15cm high, centers gone, under enviromesh, two pictures attached

    Slugs unfortunately. Put a few pellets under the mesh, then nothing else can get to them.
    Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

    Netty, one problem with slug pellets is that they contain an attractant so also pull slugs into the area.  If a slug happens to find a plant before a pellet, then..

    Try sprinkling pellets around the periphery rather than in the middle.  Beer traps also work really well.

    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

    I will try that Bob, but as its just the center of the plants eaten at 15cm high, i'm not sure it is slugs?
