There was a wonderful film of the mating rituals of slugs. It was quite beautiful. But there seems to be some copyright issue with watching it on YouTube.
nin - you may be on to something there. A good friend and fellow gardener last year sent me some nematodes. I assumed they hadn't worked but I've had lupins in the ground for a week now and they are completely untouched. Is it too much to hope?
This is all very interesting to a novice like me. Ordering nematodes today!
My last experience of slug was in my last house, where they'd come into the house overnight and wait for you in the kitchen sink - ugh!
Oh, and when we had to erect scaffolding in my neighbours garden to fix our roof. She moaned that the scaffolders moved some of her pots to where the slugs could get them. Obvs didn't have any copper tape on the pots, moany old moo.
