I always soak small bulbs for at least an hour before planting them but anemone corms need longer. I hope you can rescue your leucojums. Lovely plants. I buy and plant mine in autumn or else in the green in spring.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

The soaking definitely works. I planted some directly into the garden about 7/8 years ago and got nothing, not even a shoot.
I impulse bought some last autumn whilst shopping for crocus bulbs, soaked overnight and planted them in a pot. They had popped up early Feb and had flower buds showing early Apr.
Unfortunately ALL the flowers got chomped by snails.
Thanks for all the advice - I think I am up to speed with it all and plan to plant them in a couple of large pots next week - after soaking the corms overnight. I am wondering if my "bargain" really is one now - the two packets of 25 in each cost £5.00 in total - at B&Q.not £1.75 that you paid aym Like most shops/GC you never know how long they have been up for sale & stored in a warm building doesn't help them either - I think I would be dried & shrivelled if I had to work in one of those over warm shops.
Sometimes when you wait there is only the rubbish half dead plants left. We don't have a Wilko or Homebase over here - but we do have a couple of good GC's but they are expensive.

Yes aym they are pesky little critters aren't they, don't think we'll ever win the war on pests but carry on regardless.
After reading tips and advice on the forum I tell myself " must do better next year"
