Lilly of the Valley
in Talkback
The lily of the valley that I bought & planted last year have just started to break through the soil - there are approx. 6 of about 3 -5 cm tall. Is there anything that I should be doing to encourage a good display apart from watering them?

They're pretty robust Guernsey. I wouldn't do a thing personally.
Brilliant - thanks for the advice - I like plants that I can leave to do their own thing. I have planted a lot of bedding plants in the past & I find all that watering backbreaking and a bit tedious - so Lily of the Valley seem an ideal choice for me. Thanks again.
they are pretty invasive though. that's if they like your soil
I will give that some thought Lyn/Philippa - at present no slug problem which is something to feel pleased about. We have hedgehogs, frogs & wood chip/bark which all help to deter those slimy slugs from our garden.
