Lyn, I'm far from saying Modern is best, but neither is " I've been doing it this way for 30 years and I'm not changing" as some say.

Evidence and facts , that's all I want.

    Example.

I read an article recently about dieting / weight loss. They referred to the line oft repeated about how one must eat a good breakfast and later meals are less important. It turns out there is not one single scientific piece of research which demonstrates that

" breakfast is the most important meal of the day"

it's basically an old wives tale.

Our biorhythms are incredibly poorly understood

We have a forward facing metabolism with complex mood phases that are heavily influenced by food intake

A balanced breakfast is important to help promote mental health and physical vitality throughout the rest of the day.

Plus, there's not much point in biasing food intake towards the end of the day, simply because we need energy and the mental boost that good food delivers during daytime hours.

but apparently no more important than a balanced lunch, or indeed no breakfast at all.

But it makes sense , doesn't it?

    A crude anology

A few years ago I did some aikido holidays.

8 hours of training everyday. Intense like you wouldn't believe.

Oh boy, the mental aspect was punishing- more so than being flung through the air !

The breakfasts started small. Normal portions.a bowl of cereal or a bacon roll.

By the 3rd day everyone, men and woman were eating double and even triple the normal amount.

Fry ups, cereal, grapefruits , yoghurt , toast. Lashings of juice etc.

It was something to see .

I know the theory and it makes a lot of sense.

My point is we're all guilty to some extent of taking things as read and not always questioning if there is an alternative, maybe better approach.

    I agree,

    We become entrenched.

That's why its important to show results.

But even then ,people will be prideful and recalcitrant.

    We've all been there!

That's why, when I say add some nutrients , I can demonstrate positive results.

Im.still entrenched I guess, but with good reasonimage

The guy at HCFS who told me about the osmocote pellets was spot on. I bought a Thalia Dealbata from him, used the pellets , had a wonderful plant and lovely clear water.
