Leaves have a fine fuzz on both sides of them. Throw some names out, I'm sure the old memory will get jogged.

Are we looking at flowers or veg?

On phone so can't zoom on much, but they look a bit like a squash of some kind.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • Haha, sorry. Garden perrenials of some sort. It's not echinacia. I've still got sight of them and it's not perrenials foxglove, I hope. Gardens full of those buggers as it is
  • Rudbeckia?

  • Ooh, now Rudbeckia could be a good call. It was part of a pack of seeds that T&M had on special and is no longer listing, so I guess we just wait and see.

  • Yes I also thought Rudbeckia, wasn't it Sputnik from T&M.

  • Might well have been, GD2. I look forward to the mystery plants flowering next year. I should be fine for a year or two with a bit of tinkering.

  • Given the right conditions I was expecting mine to flower this year Jimmy. Mine are just two or three inches tall at the moment, but as soon as the temperature rises a couple more degrees they will be planted outside (hardening off first).

  • Ibwas planning on waiting a few weeks then getting them into the cold frame until may is over. It's looking like an awkward spring so far.
  • Yes agree Jimmy, even here - the wind is cold - no rain for almost a week & the sun is lovely if you can sit somewhere sheltered from the wind to enjoy it. I keep saying to myself next week will be better, but next week isn't better.

  • Well, it's raining at the moment. Tried to snow yesterday. Permanent cold frame should arrive tomorrow. So should get that settled into a gravel base. Might have to line it with bubblewrap for a few weeks though.
