Plant suggestions please

hi

I have this large conifer by my front door and it has got too large and I dislike these plants anyway so its cards are marked, when I'm sure there are no birds nesting it will go.

its pretty dry there and gets sun all PM, I'm thinking of an evergreen plant with some nice looking flowers but mostly it needs a nice smell since its next to the main entrance.

So far I have come up with burkwoodii which I think are slow growing so I may plant 4 in a square? the old weigela's next to these are also coming out and I have a couple of pieris's going in there.

At the garden ctr the other week I noticed a jasminus? plant which grew up a frame and smelt nice, not sure if evergreen though

Any one got other suggestions please, I'm pretty new to gardening so any help appreciated

cheers

How about a camellia to match the one you already have.

  • Thanks, that was quick, its a possibility though the camellia is lovely when it flowers (mine is abit neglected and needs a pruning) the flowers don't last long and are horrid when they die and fall off

With a bit of shade, camellias can flower for months, mine has been going since December.

Yours probably gets too warm by the wall.

    Daphne

    Choisya

    Osmanthus
