hi can i plant dahlias now,?OUTSIDE,

ok,iamin south west,near bath,sunny today,but cold,ok verdun,and hazel,will hod off,lolbut its hard.
Soil temperatures matter- warmth lovers, which dahlias definitely are-will just sit there until soil warms up.
We are meant to have frosts tonight and the rest of the week in the South Caroline, so I'd definitely hold out till warmer times in May.
