    I've also read that you should look "down" your plan so in your case it would mean printing it and holding it up to your eye to imagine it from ground level - plans are good but you'd have to be a bird to see it from that angle.

    I used to plan, plan, plan and enjoyed it immensely, I had squared-paper planting plans down to an expected growth after 10 years map but I've relaxed of late.

    I now roughly plan but let it organically grow out of need, usage and availability.  Not saying that's right of course, just giving you feedback.  I now have the confidence to move a plant if it's getting crowded so the 10 year plan is not as relevant as it was (and wasn't then as it turns out because I moved after 3!).

    I liked the original b plan with 2 circles until HF mentioned the problem triangle (in which I'd probably have planted a climber) but then I saw E and I like that.  Not sure which way the sun is though, shouldn't the pointer point north?  Anyway, think your little seating area facing a Westerley direction (if it is) is lovely for evening drinkies - alternatively it's a nice breakfast spot. image
