I have been given a packet of Black Beauty poppy seeds - instructions say to plant outside - can I plant them in a cold GH to start them off & plant outside when big enough to handle? They are beautiful flowers with huge heads

I should follow the instructions. They don't transplant well. It can be done but it sets them back rather than getting them ahead

I agree with nut - they hate being transplanted.
o.k. I will sow outdoors then - not grown them before but the flowers look quite stunning. Thanks for the advice.
