Grass on the drive

I always find that I need to leave the flame on the weed for slightly longer than it says but yes if you are doing grass just be a little more cautious. Also make sure the grass is not wet as it won't do a lot. I am finding a large canister goes a long way. Good luck.

The idea behind the flame gun is that it just gets the weed hot enough to kill it - which is 60 deg C or less.  You don't have to burn it.

The half-moon edger, if nice and sharp, needs very little effort to use - just put it on the line and tread on it.  Just don't try and cut the drive!

Good to hear you're recovering - keep it up!

If you cannot use the edger to cut off the surplus grass I would just leave it for now until you can, Putting weedkiller down to kill the surplus will leave a very ugly brown fringe round your lawn if you cannot lift it. Live with it I think is the answer unless you can get someone to help.

Indeed it is supposed to heat it to a said temperature that will kill the weed in a few days but mine shrivelled a little but were still alive a few days later so had to give them a more intense burn which has now done the job. Also some weeds are invincible and just don't want to die!

  • Have been to Aldi this morning to buy myself one of these flame throwers.

Listen out for the fire engine later in the week...

    Well?

  • I haven't been out this week due to adverse conditions .

Rain, hail, snow with occasional bright spells that don't last long enough for the grass and weeds to dry or for me to put my wellies on !
