Monty is happier now that that the seasons are moving and that pup made us laugh, just like to see more of the doggies Shame that there showing a flower show we won't see them
It made me chuckle when Nellie chewed up the seed packets (hope none of the contents were harmful). I have a golden just a bit older then her and have to keep a keen eye on him in the garden. Latest tricks include pinching the plant labels out of the ground (where did I put those summer flowering bulbs?) and pulling out a newly planted climbing rose when my back was turned! Gardening with dogs can be a challenge but we dog owners wouldn't be without them, would we? Monty said his garden belongs to Nigel too (commenting before getting Nellie) - I like his attitude!
When I am gasping for breath like Monty was last night I reach for my nitrolingual spray and take it easy for a bit - not a wise thing to be doing for someone who has had heart trouble. He did warn us he would be breathless so knows what the consequences are. The coloured trousers and hair colouring helped the general picture.
Monty always seems happier to me when he is in the veg patch. Have seen him weave raised beds before on fork to fork which was a C4 programme years ago and I think thats when he is at his best in the veggie patch.

The tulip place is just up the road from me in Ticehurst so me and Mr Lou12 are off to admire it's glory this Wednesday.

Someone likes it when he gets the big heavy hammer out.

It has its own personality, frankly I feel that Monty is the garden and vice versa.
It feels very natural and organic. Even if some of Monty's projects have been a failure or questionable.
In contrast, beechgrove feels disjointed to me.
It never really develops, just a series of projects that come and go.
Funnily enough, as soon GW started I thought hello Monty has had a face lift!
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
