Lawn one year one - need help with sequence of treatments

Good morning everyone

I am in the middle of scarifying front and back lawn and wanted advice on what to do next.

I am a one year gardener and took on a largish garden that had been neglected for 15 years. At that point it was 90% weeds/moss and 10% grass - this year it has improved to 50/50.

I am intending to put down some more grass seed, and also give it a spring treatments for moss/weeds.

After scarifying which is best to do first, grass seed and wait to treat or vice versa?

Thank you

Treat first, buy the time that's done it'll be warmer for grass seed to germinate.

Get all the harsh stuff done first.

Thanks Daren. How long should I wait after treating before seeding?

I'm also going to aerate with garden fork - should I do that before seeding?

    Thanks for the help

You'll probably need to scarify after treating, to remove as much dead moss/ material as possible.

    I'd aerate just before seeding.

I'm not sure how long to wait after treating, it'll take a couple of weeks to work- depending on which product you use.

Yes, part way through the scarifying I realised I would need to scarify again so I stopped after doing the front lawn. Rain is forecast for tomorrow so I will treat this evening. I will read the packet to find out how long to leave before seeding.

    Thanks
